Only a 16-volt/10 VA transformer can be used with the doorbell chime, as other transformers may cause the doorbell to not work properly or even damage the chime. It is important to ensure compatibility to avoid any issues.

The installation process is straightforward, with three ports in the base. The "TRANS" port should be connected to a 16V 10VA transformer, the "FRONT" port should be connected to the front doorbell button, and the "REAR" port should be connected to the rear doorbell button.
